9 Years of Shadows, a pixel art Metroidvania from Halberd Studios, has announced its plans to release on PC on October 10th, 2022, with a Nintendo Switch release in Q1 2023.
Players take the role of Europa, a young warrior tasked with breaking the curse that plagues her people and restoring colour to all lands. As you explore a timeworn mechanical giant, you’ll battle hidden bosses, scavenge collectibles and discover easter eggs. By collecting elemental armour, Europa gains access to new abilities to battle her foes and traverse the environment.
9 Years of Shadows promises a heartfelt and emotional coming-of-age tale, a lore-infused universe, gorgeous pixel art and music composed by Michiru Yamane (Castlevania), Manami Matsumae (Mega Man), and Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid).
