CD PROJEKT RED, best known for The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, have announced the premiere date for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, their first ever anime series.

Created in collaboration with Studio Trigger, Cyberpunk: Edgerunner will debut on Netflix on September 13th. All 10 episodes of the standalone series will premiere at the same time.

Alongside the announcement comes a violent and high-octane trailer, intended for mature audiences.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells the story of David Martinez, a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. In the aftermath of a personal tragedy, David decides to take control of his own destiny by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

Studio Trigger collaborated with CD PROJEKT RED to bring Cyberpunk: Edgerunners to life. The series is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) with Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal) acting as chief character designer and executive animation director. Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions ‘The Elder’) and Yoshiki Usa (GRIDMAN UNIVERSE series) wrote the screenplay, while Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series) composed the original score.
