Pre-order Information

Pre-orders are now open for the latest in MegaHouse’s “Dragon Ball Gals” series. It’s Android 21, the popular new character from Dragon Ball FighterZ! As you can probably tell, she’s appearing in her transformed state.

Android 21 stands around 21cm tall (that had to be planned, right?) and features interchangeable face plates so to represent her “good” and “evil” versions.

She’s available to pre-order now from various stores, including AmiAmi, at an ¥11,800 RRP (tax excluded). She’s scheduled to release in June, 2019.

My Impressions

So I’ve been waiting for this one for a while! I’m a big Android 21 fan, so this one caught my eye a long time ago. I think she’s turned out pretty well overall – the sculpting and paintwork in the prototype shown here look great. MegaHouse’s quality is generally consistent, so I think she’ll turn out pretty close to what we see.

There’s a couple of features that bother me a little, though. The first is her face. It’s super cool that they included a choice of both faces; I was worried they wouldn’t, and I’ve always preferred the “evil” eyes. That said, something about her face looks a bit off to me – though it’s hard to tell what it is, if anything, with these tiny pictures.

The other is her tail, which has wound up in a weird position. It’s a bit lower than it really should be. This is probably because the sculptor wanted to show off some nice butt cleavage and the tail would get in the way. It’s not a big deal (I didn’t notice it til it was pointed out to me), but hey.

Either way, I’m definitely planning to try and pick this one up if I can. I like MegaHouse’s work, and Android 21 is a favourite of mine, so it’s kind of a must buy. It’s also worth noting that we probably won’t see many premium level figures for her, since the overwhelming majority of Dragon Ball figures are prize figures. This might be the best quality Android 21 figure we see for a while!
