Good Smile Company are bringing back the popular Nero Claudius (aka Saber Extra) from Fate/EXTRA and other titles.
Like most Nendoroid figures, Nero stands about 10cm tall and features a selection of accessories. This includes 3 expression plates (one based on illustrations by CHANxCO), a rose and her sword, Aestus Estus.
You can pre-order Nero’s rerelease from various stores, including AmiAmi and Solaris Japan. She’s scheduled to release in August, 2019 at a ¥4,200 RRP (tax included).
My Impressions
Another cute Nendoroid! I’m a big fan of Nero, and I think this little figure does a pretty nice job with her. They’ve certainly captured the aspects that make her different from the original Saber. Those two big peaks on her hair are important!
It’s always nice to see rereleases, especially for older and more popular characters. I don’t know if Nendoroid resale values get especially high, but rereleasing a figure usually helps to keep their aftermarket price from getting too crazy. It sucks for resellers, but for everyone else it’s a good thing.
I am a little disappointed by the accessories for this one, but I’m not really sure what more you could do for her. It would have been nice to see a more excited or smug expression, though. While the CHANxCO expression is a nice touch, it’s not very exciting.
Either way, as a fan of Nero, I’m thinking about getting this if I can find the budget for it. This Nendoroid isn’t a “must get” by any means, but it’d certainly be nice to have.
