Pre-order Information
A+ are bringing back Fukei Akiko (designed by Oda Non) with a new colour scheme. The original version sported a darker purple uniform and auburn hair, while Ver.II sports a blue and white uniform with blonde hair.
Akiko is a 1/6 scale figure and stands 28cm tall. The figure comes with interchangeable M posed legs for a more risque display. Although it’s not shown in the official photos, there is also a chance that the figure has a cast-off blouse and panties, as the previous version had these features.
You can pre-order Akiko from various retailers, including AmiAmi and Nippon Yasan, at a ¥15,600 RRP (tax excluded). She’s scheduled to release in March, 2019.
My Impressions
So, I’m a big fan of Oda Non’s work. While he does have a bit of a same-face problem, his style is distinct and his ability to draw beautiful, mature women is perhaps second to none. Naturally, his talents transfer quite well to the world of adult figures.
The previous version of this figure is one I rather fancied back when it came out, but I never got around to buying. Unfortunately, I don’t think this colour scheme works quite as well, although the core design of the figure is still quite appealing. I’m sure it’s actually preferable for some – it’s just a matter of taste. I am concerned that they don’t seem to mention her cast-off features anywhere in the second version. It doesn’t seem likely that they would remove the feature, but you’d think they might mention it.
If I were to buy Akiko, I would personally hold out for the first version. However, it’s worth mentioning that the original version now commands prices anywhere between ¥24,000 to ¥29,000 – about a ¥10,000 increase since her release last year. For many, that may be too much to ask for this figure. If the colour scheme is not a concern for you, then you may prefer to pick this version up while her price is a bit more reasonable.
