This figure is probably one of the first several that I picked up when I started collecting again. In the early days, price was more important than quality, and so Banpresto’s wide variety of prize figures was very appealing. As I’ve moved forward, quality has become the more important factor. Still, if you don’t mind the obvious quality hit, you can pick up some pretty cool looking prize figures, and they won’t break the bank.
Prize figures like this one also offer an interesting challenge when it comes to photographing them. The marked difference in quality between a Banpresto prize figure and something more premium by, say, MegaHouse, creates a few notable hurdles to jump. Shiny plastic, production seams and, sculpting shortcuts and so on – these are all things you have to work around, and affect the way you light and shoot the subject.
Still, I think this set turned out pretty nicely, and shows off the strong suits of this classy looking Nami figure. Please enjoy, and let me know what you think!
