Pre-order Information
Pre-orders are available now for Bell Fine and Takara Tomy’s upcoming Asui Tsuyu (a.k.a Froppy) figure. From the popular anime My Hero Academia (or Boku no Hero Academia if you prefer), Froppy is 1/8 scale and about 20cm tall. The figure features interchangeable face parts and a removable helmet.
You can pre-order Froppy from various stores, including AmiAmi and Nippon-Yasan. She’s scheduled to release in March, 2019 with a ¥13,500 RRP (tax excluded).
My Impressions
Froppy turned out super cute! I’ve liked the look of this figure since the first prototype photo, and I can easily say I’m happy with how she’s turned out. The colours are bold and vibrant, the paintwork looks great, and the option to remove her helmet and tongue is a really nice touch that I wasn’t expecting. My only quibble is that I think the “SPLASH!” sound effect could have been a different colour to stand out more. But the base really does help this figure pop, I feel.
The price is perhaps a little higher than I would have expected, but not by a huge amount. That, coupled with her March release date, does mean that I might not be able to pick this one up immediately. There are so many great figures releasing early next year!
I’ll definitely be considering my options, though, because I really like how this figure has turned out – right now, she’s up at the top of my wishlist. I think this one is sure please fans of our favourite froggy heroine!
